What is the format this season, and why does it matter for wardrobe?
Cutthroat put 24 players into three teams — Blue, Gray and Orange — drafted at the start and playing for a $500,000 pot that a captain divides. Filming took place around Bangkok and in Chonburi Province.
Team color is the reason this season looks different on screen. When production assigns a color, wardrobe stops being a personal choice and becomes a uniform problem: everyone needs the same shade in a cut that works on their body, in enough duplicates to survive a shoot day that ends soaked. How does filming in Thailand change what the cast wears?
Heat plus humidity removes about half the usual options. A few things follow from that, and they hold for anyone training outdoors in August or September in the American South:
- Short beats long, but not by much. A high-rise short in the 5-to-8-inch range keeps thigh chafe down while still covering enough for rope and cargo-net work. Full-length compression turns into a sauna above about 85°F.
- Nylon-spandex over cotton, every time. Cotton absorbs sweat and stays heavy; a nylon or poly blend at least sheds some of it between rounds.
- Two of everything. Nothing dries overnight at that humidity. Cast members are issued duplicates for a reason.
- Flat seams matter more than fabric name. Wet fabric plus a raised seam equals a raw patch by hour three.
What does a comparable kit cost right now?
Prices came off each brand's own site on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, at about 11:55 p.m. ET. None of this is a claim about what any specific player wore — competition series almost never publish wardrobe credits, and when a brand does outfit a season it announces the deal. No such announcement exists for Cutthroat. These are close matches in cut and fabric.

Roughly $20 buys you a second pair so laundry day is survivable. Around $68 buys compression that still holds after a season of washing. If you are buying one item and only one, buy the short now and the legging in six weeks, when it will also be on sale.
