Competition Shows Next Week (Sept. 21–27, 2026): Four Premieres on Four Nights

Two weeks ago this grid had one new episode on it. Next week it has seven titles, and the wardrobe range runs from a ballroom rehearsal room to a jungle at night. Here is the week night by night, with what is worth looking at in each one.

What’s on Monday?

The Voice opens season 30 with a supersized kickoff: two hours Monday, then an hour on Tuesday and another on Wednesday, four hours of Blind Auditions in three nights. Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson are back in the chairs, Queen Latifah and Riley Green are new to them, and Carson Daly is still hosting.

Nobody would call this an athletic show, and the coaches’ chairs are where the clothes get interesting anyway. Blind Auditions are shot across long days, which is why coach wardrobes on this show have drifted toward knit separates, wide trousers and clean sneakers rather than anything structured. It is the mainstream version of what this channel keeps running into: on television, the comfortable option wins whenever the camera is going to be on someone for eleven hours.

What’s on Tuesday?

Dancing with the Stars is into week two with all 14 couples still in, and the theme is Viral Hits Night — songs that broke on TikTok and the rest. ABC has it at 8 p.m. ET, simulcast on Disney+.

Week two is usually where rehearsal footage starts outnumbering ballroom footage in the packages, and that is the part worth watching. The practice room has its own uniform, and it does not change much from couple to couple: a high-waisted legging or a full-length flare, a cropped top or a fitted tank, socks over the shoe, a knit layer that comes off after ten minutes. What’s on Wednesday?

Three things land the same night. Survivor 51 is the big one: a two-hour premiere, 8 to 10 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+, 21 first-time players split across yellow and purple tribes, filmed in Fiji. From Sept. 30 the show settles into 90 minutes.

Survivor is the odd case on this channel, because production reportedly turns down quick-dry athletic wear — it reads as generic and hides who a player is. The activewear on that show is underneath the street clothes, and it surfaces once the first water challenge soaks everybody. The Challenge posts episode 9 of season 42 to Paramount+ overnight, still in blue, grey and orange team colours, and Netflix adds episode 8 of the Mexican edition of Physical 100. Both are already covered here: the Arena kit and what the Mexico cast wears. Netflix has not posted an hour for either, and 3 a.m. ET is its usual habit rather than a promise.

What’s on Thursday?

FOX stacks its two hours. Hell’s Kitchen premieres season 25 at 8 p.m. ET with 18 chefs, all of them under 25, split into the usual blue and red brigades. Special Forces follows at 9 with season 5, subtitled “Jungle Warfare,” and a celebrity cast that includes Candace Cameron Bure and Oliver Hudson.

These are the two most different wardrobes on the week. A Hell’s Kitchen chef is dressed by the show from the jacket out, so the only choices left are the shoes and whatever goes under the whites — and in a kitchen running that hot, a base layer is a real decision rather than a style one. What’s on the weekend?

Nothing from this roster. Friday brings the Italian Physical 100, two episodes at once, and then the week stops. American Ninja Warrior finished its season on Aug. 31 and is dark; the sleeve-and-grip breakdown stands until it returns.

The gap is short. The Amazing Race takes the following week — a retrospective special on Tuesday, Sept. 29, then a two-night premiere on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. If you want a head start, the one-bag packing kit is already up.

Which premiere matters most if you care about the clothes?

Special Forces, by a distance. It is the only show next week where the wardrobe is the subject rather than the backdrop: a single issued kit, worn through water, mud and cold, on camera, for the length of the course. Everything this channel argues about — whether a seam holds, how long elastane survives salt, what a soaked waistband does to a person’s stride — gets demonstrated on screen instead of described.

Survivor is second, and for the opposite reason. The interesting thing there is the absence: a show set outdoors in Fiji where athletic clothing is reportedly discouraged, so you get to watch people solve heat and water in cotton.

What should you look for in each one?

How do you find something you spotted on one of these?

Start with what the garment is doing rather than whose it is. Logos are rarely legible on competition shows, brands are almost never confirmed by the networks, and a stylist’s loan often has no retail equivalent at all. What you can read off the screen is the construction: the rise of a legging, whether a bra is racerback or strappy, where the seams sit, how long the inseam looks against the knee.
